Poland is one of the larger markets in Central-Eastern Europe, centered on Warsaw and increasingly seen as an emerging hub for the region. Its growth is shaped by a power system in which around half of electricity still comes from coal, which complicates the clean power commitments of large operators.
Grid connection requests from data centers alone are reported at 150–200 GW, several times the country’s peak demand of around 30 GW, much of it likely speculative. The Polish Investment Zone, which replaced the special economic zones, offers corporate tax exemptions of 12–15 years across the whole country for eligible projects, including IT services.
