Ireland
Ireland has 39 operating data centers in our registry, and we estimate 1 572 MW of data center capacity in the country. About 1 539 MW of that is colocation and hyperscale capacity we track directly.

Ireland is one of Europe’s leading data center markets, with Dublin forming part of the FLAP-D group of hubs and hosting a large concentration of hyperscale campuses. Data centers account for a large and growing share of national electricity consumption, which has made grid capacity the defining constraint on the market.

After a multi-year de facto moratorium on new connections that ended in December 2025, the regulator’s final policy on data center connections sets strict conditions: large projects are prioritized if they bring on-site or near-site generation or storage that participates in the power market and can offer flexibility, and 80% of their annual electricity demand must be met by additional renewable generation in Ireland within six years. The government’s Large Energy User Action Plan points to a more targeted siting model, with “green energy parks” co-locating data centers with offshore wind.
