Norway is one of the Nordic markets that has attracted data center investment on the strength of abundant, low-cost hydropower and a cool climate. Its facilities range from colocation sites near Oslo to large campuses in more remote locations, some built into former mines and mountain halls.

After a period of strong incentives, including reduced electricity tax for data centers, an updated national data center strategy takes a more balanced approach, encouraging data centers to support grid balancing, recover waste heat and improve efficiency.
